Krungsri Teams Up with IBM Consulting to Build a Future-Ready Digital Capability and Talent Foundation to Support AI-Driven Growth

Bangkok, 9 June 2026 — Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL), today announced a five‑year collaboration with IBM Consulting that focuses on building strong IT, digital, and AI capabilities that enable sustainable business growth. The collaboration will focus on a series of strategic transformation initiatives, including creative new revenue streams through Banking-as-a-Service with Open APIs and embedded finance, the modernization of its lending and payment platform and processes, and its mobile banking application, while driving bank-wide transformation with AI.
In addition, the AI-powered software development and platform engineering will accelerate end‑to‑end application development, supporting Krungsri’s MTBP (Medium-Term Business Plan) and vision to evolve into a regional capability for the group.
Talent readiness remains at the heart of every digital transformation journey. This collaboration is therefore designed to equip employees with critical AI skills while strengthening the organization’s AI and asset-based workforce capabilities. This includes a shift toward agile squad structures and an outcome-based operating model designed to support evolving business needs. Employees will be empowered to experiment rapidly, learn continuously, and iterate based on real-world outcomes — driving productivity and building a more adaptive workforce equipped to respond to future market dynamics.
Furthermore, by leveraging IBM Consulting Advantage, it aims to enhance delivery productivity through intelligent agents, reusable assets, and codified methods embedded into daily work, including a Design-to-Code practice that enables automated code generation directly from design with minimal human intervention.
“Winning in the AI era requires more than speed — it requires a clear strategy and the ability to transform how we operate as a bank. This initiative reflects Krungsri’s long-term commitment to strengthening our digital and AI capabilities, building resilience, and enhancing our ability to adapt amid rapid change,” said Saisunee Hanprathueangsil, Krungsri Chief Information and Digital Officer.
“Our focus is on creating a future‑ready organization — one that is driven by innovation, empowered by our people, and equipped to deliver sustainable value in an AI-driven world.”
“AI augments people—but people will increasingly shape and amplify AI. Krungsri is a strong example of a forward-looking organization that understands technology alone won’t deliver AI-first transformation. Success with AI depends on people as much as it does on technology,” said Juhi McClelland, Managing Partner, IBM Consulting Asia Pacific. “IBM is proud to support Krungsri on this transformation journey—building a foundation where continual reskilling and technology turn disruption into an engine for continuous transformation.”
