General Manager
Soojung Lee has over 30 years of experience in the global IT industry, having held key roles at IBM, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Her career spans diverse funcJons including database engineering, program management, sales, consulJng, and execuJve leadership as Chief OperaJng Officer (COO). AMer leading cloud business iniJaJves in the public sector, specifically in healthcare and educaJon, she joined IBM Korea in December 2023 as Vice President of Technology and was appointed President of IBM Korea in July 2025.
At IBM, Lee supported financial clients by driving IT innovaJon through engineering, program management, and sales. She later moved to Sun Microsystems as Head of Professional Services, where she led consulJng engagements with Korea’s top clients such as Samsung, Hyundai, and LG. Following Oracle’s acquisiJon of Sun in 2011, she transiJoned into consulJng and subsequently served as COO, overseeing enterprise-wide operaJons. She later managed database and cloud sales for major conglomerates including Samsung, LG, and GS.
In 2019, Lee joined AWS, where she successfully expanded the cloud business in regulated industries, achieving more than fourfold growth over four years. Returning to IBM in December 2023, she assumed the role of Vice President of Technology, and now, as General Manaegr of IBM Korea, she oversees the company’s full business por_olio including Red Hat.
Lee holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Yonsei University and earned her MBA from Seoul NaJonal University Graduate School of Business.
