Shanker V Selvadurai
Vice President, Technical Community and Client Engineering, IBM Technology, Asia Pacific
Based in Singapore, Shanker V Selvadurai is currently the Vice President & CTO of IBM Technology for Asia Pacific where he leads the technical organization that help clients across the region to explore and co-create enterprise solutions. A key focus of his organization is to scale the broad adoption of strategic technology capabilities like AI, Automation, Cybersecurity, Cloud Native and Edge Computing to accelerate digital transformation. Shanker’s current area of interest is enabling the use of foundation models and generative AI in the enterprise.
Prior to joining IBM in 2006, Shanker held key leadership positions in areas of research, development, consulting, sales and marketing with AT&T, NCR and Fujitsu as well as start-up BlueGill Technologies. His international career based in North America, Europe and Asia has enabled a broad and diverse set of skills and experience in building and applying technology enabled capabilities with organizations globally across myriads of industry.
Shanker holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration. He is also an Open Group Certified Distinguished Architect. Besides having published international patents and papers, Shanker actively contributed in international technology standards committees that include the IFX Forum, OFX Consortium and the Microsoft Advisory Council. As adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Management University, he taught courses related to Services Science and Advanced Business Technology.
