Stephen Braim
Vice President Governmental & Regulatory Affairs IBM Asia Pacific
Mr Braim leads a team of public policy professionals across IBM’s Asia Pacific region specifically focused on information technology strategy and policy, investment, market entry strategies, business development and stakeholder relations.
In addition, he is IBM’s global market support leader with teams in Europe, Asia, Latin America, North America and Middle East / Africa. Mr Braim also holds the role of U.S Export Regulations Executive for IBM Asia Pacific and chair of IBM’s Sensitive Transactions Council.
Prior to joining IBM in 1998, Mr Braim was the Manager of Regulatory Affairs for New T&T Hong Kong. Before moving to Hong Kong, he spent several years with the Victorian State Government in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Mr Braim was a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for International Research on Communication and Information Technologies (“CIRCIT”) and a member of the teaching staff in the Department of Economics at Melbourne University. He has served on the Board of Directors (Vice President) of the National Press Club of Australia, the Board of Directors of the Thai Life Sciences Centre of Excellence in Bangkok and the US/Asean Business Council Washington to D.C.
Mr Braim is a state counsellor for the Australian Industry Group (AiG) and President of the Mornington Peninsula Aero Club in Victoria.
